The Board of Directors of WRC is required to annually nominate three individuals to serve a three-year term of office as directors. This year’s nominees, who are up for election at the 2021 Annual Shareholders Meeting to be held on Wednesday, August 4 are Adam Reed, Lisa Rockweiler and Howard Schwartz.

Adam Reed is president and CEO of Sugar Creek Mutual Insurance Company in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

Adam graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2002 with a degree in Business Administration. He began his insurance career with American Express Property & Casualty from 2002-04 and then worked for American Family Insurance for almost 14 years in their claims department. He was hired by Sugar Creek Mutual in July 2017 as the general manager and was then promoted to president and CEO in April 2018.

Adam was elected to the Wisconsin Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (WAMIC) Board of Directors in 2019 and serves on the WAMIC Strategic Planning Committee.

Lisa Rockweiler is general manager and secretary of Reedsburg Westfield
Mutual Insurance Company in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.

Lisa began her insurance career as General Manager of Reedsburg Westfield in March 2009 after working in the legal field for over 20 years and as a Town Clerk for her local municipality for seven years.  Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is currently enrolled in the NAMIC Professional Farm Mutual Manager program.

Howard Schwartz is president and CEO of Ellington Mutual Insurance Company located in Hortonville, Wisconsin.

Howard graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in Criminal Justice/Sociology.  He began his career as the lead investigator for a large national law firm and then joined Wausau Insurance Companies as a field claim representative.  He held several positions including senior field claim representative, senior training consultant and home office claim supervisor until Wausau’s merger with Liberty Mutual.  Howard was then employed as a workers’ compensation claim supervisor for Society Insurance before joining Ellington as a field representative.  He was promoted to president and CEO in 2008.

Howard has earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), Claims Leadership and Organizational Management (AIC-M), Associate in Management (AIM) and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) designations.  He also earned the Professional Farm Mutual Manager’s (PFMM) designation.  In 2015, Howard was honored with the NAMIC Merit Award. Howard is the past president of the Wisconsin-Fox Valley CPCU chapter.  He has served on several WAMIC committees over the years and is currently a member of the Strategic Planning committee.

Howard has served on the WRC board of directors since 2012.  He is currently vice chairman of the board.
