Reinsurance Claims Representative

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Accounting or Finance Preferred)

JOB SUMMARY
The Reinsurance Claims Representative’s core responsibility is managing the reinsurance claims process from the creation of a property claim through payment and closure of the claim.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • REINSURANCE CLAIMS
  • Establish claim numbers and reserves for all large losses received from clients; notify the Reinsurance Department of all new claims.
  • Review reinsurance claims for accuracy and recalculate payments as necessary.
  • Analyze loss detail from clients and prepare aggregate and catastrophe excess calculations.
  • Request supporting documents from clients to close large loss claims; ensure that the information obtained agrees with system records.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of policies and procedures for reinsurance claims processing.
  • Assist with maintaining property reserves in the Reinsurance Database, including quarterly Data Report updates.

Client Policy Servicing Specialist

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 6 Months Prior Commercial Lines Experience

Prior experience with Applied’s TAM software is a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must have the following:

  • Exceptional verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment yet work independently
  • Be very detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Customer Service focused
  • Positive attitude with strong desire to assist others

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process daily mail and distribute accordingly
  • Process daily deposits
  • Set up Incoming Quote Requests
  • Maintain PL/CL spreadsheet
  • Update carrier and produce information in TAM
  • Process commercial line new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and rescissions in TAM, reviewing for accuracy and forward accordingly
  • Follow up on unsold proposals and expired policies and document accordingly
  • Process certificates of insurance, verifying insurance requirements in client contracts to ensure compliance
  • Follow up on underwriting requests
  • Manage daily suspense activities and document all interaction between clients, agents, staff, and self
  • Assist Account Managers as needed
  • Update WRC Agency documentation as needed
