A New Resource to Support You with Subrogation

Clients often tell us how challenging subrogation can be. WRC is pleased to announce a partnership with Venture Subrogation to provide additional subrogation support to you.

Venture Subrogation is a third-party provider that specializes in working with mutuals of your size. Our new program will focus on claims $50,000 and under, as those are often overlooked for recoveries. Venture Subrogation has established a track record of success in our industry for claims of this size.

This is an optional program for all WRC clients.

Please log in to our secure site and then go to the WRC news section to get more details about the program. You also may contact the WRC Mutual Assistance Team if you have any questions.

WRC Named a Best Place to Work in Insurance for Second Year

The WRC Group has been named in the annual Best Places to Work in Insurance program, which recognizes employers for their outstanding performance in establishing workplaces where employees can thrive, enjoy their work and help their companies grow.

WRC is one of the leading mutual reinsurers in the United States. The company partners with mutual clients, offering products and services they need to remain competitive, providing professional guidance when requested, and advancing funds quickly to assist with large-scale losses. The WRC Group includes Wisconsin Reinsurance, 1st Auto, WRC Agency and Wisconsin Adjusting Service, Inc.

“The WRC Group is thrilled to be named a Best Company to Work for in Insurance for a second year in a row!” says Jason Fogg, WRC Executive Vice President. “Our people are what makes WRC special and we couldn’t be prouder of them. They have stayed focused and positive during what has been one of the most challenging times many of us have faced. We can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication. Not only do our colleagues look out for our customers, they look out for each other. It’s that culture that makes WRC such a wonderful place to work.”

WRC performs well in employee ratings for culture and benefits. Employees also give WRC high marks for its response to the pandemic, including a commitment to safety, a seamless transition to employees working from home and prompt fulfillment of equipment needs. The company focuses on giving back, and employees remain active participants in that effort. They share their time and talents for numerous company-sponsored events, including volunteering at a local food bank.

Best Places to Work in Insurance is an annual sponsored content feature presented by the Custom Publishing unit of Business Insurance and Best Companies Group that lists the agents, brokers, insurance companies and other providers with the highest levels of employee engagement and satisfaction. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based Best Companies Group identifies the leading employers in the insurance industry by conducting a free two-part assessment of each company. The first part is a questionnaire completed by the employer about company policies, practices and demographics. The second part is a confidential employee survey on engagement and satisfaction.

The program divides employers into the categories of small, 25-249 employees; medium, 250-999 employees; and large, 1,000 or more employees. This year’s report features 100 companies of various sizes, from 25 employees to more than 4,000.

The ranking and profiles of the winning companies will be unveiled as a sponsored content supplement in the October issue of Business Insurance and online at BusinessInsurance.com.

New and Enhanced Commercial Eligibility Tools

The WRC Group is committed to providing valuable resources to support you in managing your mutual. Your WRC Mutual Assistance Team has developed helpful tools for Mutual Managers and underwriters to determine commercial eligibility. You now have access to:

  • An enhanced All Commercial Eligibility Guide that provides the starting point for determining risk type eligibility and program eligibility, and for identifying which risk types are not allowed.
  • A new Personal or Commercial Decision Tool with guidance on which program may be best for a risk that has commercial exposure.

The All Commercial Eligibility Guide replaces The All Lines Classification Eligibility Guide Red/Green Pages and features:

  • Introduction and Program Eligibility tabs to help you find information quickly
  • Alphabetical displays of eligible and ineligible risk types
  • Expanded listings that include underwriting notations, eligible programs, class codes and rating basis
  • Identification of risks to be discussed with your WRC Commercial Underwriting Consultant
  • Easy document search by term

The Personal or Commercial Decision Tool references personal/farm and commercial programs, and lists risk types that are not eligible under any program.

To view the tools, please log in to the secure site and go to Documents > Commercial Lines Underwriting > General Information. You also can find the Personal or Commercial Decision Tool by going to Documents > Personal Lines Underwriting > General Information.
