Cargo Coverage

Cargo coverage protects damage or loss of goods while being transported by air, sea, or land. Covered cargo could include grain hauled by a farmer for others, or a trucker transporting goods from the warehouse to the store. What is covered, and how it is covered, can vary per carrier and policy.

A covered claim may result in one of the following loss types:

  • Fire
  • Explosion
  • Sinking or Wreck
  • Malicious Damage
  • Theft
  • Delay
  • Misconduct
  • Overboard losses or water infiltration of the product
  • Piracy
  • War
  • Riots or Terrorism
  • Packing deficiencies
  • Transporter Insolvency

Be sure to read the policy carefully to understand all coverages, limitations, and exclusions.
