About WRC Agency

WRC Agency was formed on January 30, 1984. In the beginning, WRC Agency focused on writing auto coverage for WRC’s mutual clients. Agents also utilized the agency to place bonds and crop hail insurance. When 1st Auto & Casualty was formed in 1991, this business created a base of 1st Auto policyholders.

To further grow the 1st Auto business, WRC Agency contracted with agents to expand the mutual’s ability to offer an auto/home/farm package. Through a commission-based agreement, the agents referred clients for an auto quote or provided prospect lists for the agency to contact. When the telemarketing laws came into effect, it was clear that WRC Agency needed to provide its agents with additional outlets to place auto insurance. WRC Agency started contracting with other personal lines carriers and soon moved into the commercial marketplace as well.

This strategic expansion provided mutual agents the additional leverage to maintain or grow their existing clients without losing time researching or contracting with a number of different carriers. As additional needs were identified, new lines of business, including both standard and specialty carriers, were added to broaden the spectrum of products WRC Agency offers to mutual clients.

Not only has WRC Agency expanded in the lines of business it offers and the carriers it represents, it has also expanded the territories where these can be offered. WRC Agency provides service and products to all mutual agents throughout Wisconsin, South Dakota, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. As WRC moves into additional states,  WRC Agency will offer its products and services in those states as well.
