The average snowmobiler:
- Is 42 years old
- Rides their sled 1,210 miles a year in North America

- Yamaha Motor Corporation – Headquartered in Cypress, California
Insuring Snowmobiles
For basic snowmobile insurance, the average cost is about $180 a year, or $15 a month. However, the amount paid for sled insurance depends on several factors, including the model of the snowmobile, policy limits and the option to purchase additional types of coverage.
Some of these specialized coverages include roadside/towing, personal equipment or the trailer used to haul the sled.
There are also many discounts available that can be applied, such as:
- Advance quoting
- Paid in full
- Prompt payment
- Disappearing deductibles
- Multiple sleds
- Companion policy (has another policy with the same carrier)
- Garaging discount (if it is locked up at night)
- Off-road safety course
- Safety equipment or recovery devices.
You can use this form to obtain a quote through WRC Agency. We typically insure snowmobiles with Progressive, Dairyland, Safeco or Foremost. When quoting, be sure to gather the year, make, model, serial number, the engine CCs and the value of the snowmobile. We also will need to know the value of any special or customized equipment on your client’s snowmobile or a transport trailer. All this information will help us in quoting.
