Bill Pay FAQ

It depends on what system your policy was issued from. To make a payment follow this menu path: My Policy > Bill Pay. Enter your Policy number exactly as it appears including all letters, numbers (0-9) and the dash (-). Note there are no spaces before or after the dash. If US Bank epayment opens and you see “Welcome to the Electronic Payment System” you can make a payment by selecting “Pay Without Registering" or you can enter your User ID and password. If your policy is in 1st Otto-mation it requires you to set up an account and will always require a User Id and Password to access your bill pay options.
Yes, call our Customer Service number at (800) 261-2886 and they will be happy to assist you. There are no additional fees incurred by paying online or calling our customer service department.
You may always contact your local independent agent or our Customer Service Department at (800) 261-2886 to learn your current account balance. If your policy is in 1st Otto-mation, you can login to the Policyholder Portal. Click the policy number under the “Accounts” section. The next screen displays the payoff amount, recent payment activities, and balances. Select “Pay Now” to get to the payment screen.

Please pay the minimum current balance to prevent a lapse in your coverage. Premium changes will adjust your future installments or a refund will be issued if there is no remaining balance due.

Policy numbers must be entered exactly as shown on the bill including all letters, numbers (0-9) and the dash (-). Note there are no spaces before or after the dash. If US Bank epayment opens and you see, “Welcome to the Electronic Payment System,” online payments will be applied to your policy the next business day. If your policy is in 1st Otto-mation, after logging into the Policyholder Portal, your online payment will be applied to your policy the same day.
Yes we accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. Please refer to your invoice for the payment amount required.
After you enter your policy number, you will be directed to the correct payment portal. If you see US Bank on the screen know they are our trusted service provider which allows us to securely receive online customer payments.
If you have insufficient funds in your account you will be responsible for any fees charged by your bank and 1st Auto. In addition, the policy will not be credited as paid.

Our banking and administrative costs continually increase. Unfortunately, we’ve found it necessary to charge a nominal installment fee so we can continue to offer convenient payment options.
No, making a payment on a cancelled or non-renewed policy does not mean your policy is automatically reinstated. Please be sure to contact your agent.

Please call your agent to report your claim. Be sure to provide your agent with your current phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and the best time to reach you.
A claims representative will promptly contact you and will work with you to conclusion.
We recommend you report your claim as soon as possible so 1st Auto can respond appropriately.
If you do not have a specific shop in mind, you may want to consider one of the shops in your area in our Direct Repair Network. If you chose one of these shops, please be sure to let your agent or Claims Representative know.
If you choose not to use one of our network of Direct Repair shops and your vehicle is safely driveable, two estimates are helpful for comparison; one shop may observe damage the other may have missed.
We recommend you report it to the police department and contact your agent.

If the box turns red, please contact your agent to access  your policy documents. If your policy is in 1st Otto-mation, after logging in, will be able to access your policy documents by clicking on the policy number under the “Policies” section. On the next screen you can view your policy information and download documents related to your policy.
