Do I need a login and password to make an online payment on my 1st Auto policy?

Yes. Go to the Policyholder Portal and set up an account. Select Make a Payment. Any policy with amounts due will show. Select Pay Now to get to the payment screen.

Can I pay my 1st Auto policy over the phone?

Yes, call your agent or our Customer Service number at (800) 261-2886 and they will be happy to assist you. There are no additional fees incurred by paying online or calling your payment in.

How can I find the current amount due on my 1st Auto policy?

Go to the Policyholder Portal and enter your User ID and password. Click the policy number under the Billing section. The screen will display the payoff amount, recent payments activities, and balance.

Can I change the date my automatic payments are withdrawn by 1st Auto?

Yes. Contact your agent or 1st Auto Customer Service at (800) 261-2886.

How can I change my EFT account number?

How long before the due date should I mail my payment?

Payments must be received in our office by the due date. Please allow sufficient time for the USPS services. Mailing address: 1st Auto, PO Box 7988, Madison WI 53707.

I have a pending change on my policy, what amount should I pay?

Please pay the minimum current balance to prevent a lapse in your coverage. Premium changes will adjust your future installments or a refund will be issued if there is no remaining balance due.

When are payments applied to my 1st Auto policy?

Online payments will be applied the same day.

Can I pay my 1st Auto policy with a credit card?

Yes, we accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover.

Why do I see a US Bank logo after I click Pay Bill?

After you enter your policy number, you will be directed to the correct payment portal. If you see US Bank logo on the screen know they are our trusted service provider which allows us to securely receive online customer payments.

What happens if there are insufficient funds in my bank account?

If you have insufficient funds in your account you will be responsible for any fees charged by your bank and 1st Auto. In addition, the policy will not be credited as paid.

I contacted my agent to request a change on my policy. Should I still pay my current invoice?

Yes, please pay your minimum current balance to prevent a lapse in your coverage. Premium changes will adjust your future installments or a refund will be issued if there is no remaining balance due.

Why does 1st Auto charge an installment fee?

Our banking and administrative costs continually increase. Unfortunately, we’ve found it necessary to charge a nominal installment fee so we can continue to offer convenient payment options.

If my 1st Auto policy is canceled or non-renewed, can I make a payment to reinstate it?

No, making a payment on a canceled or non-renewed policy does not mean your policy is automatically reinstated. Please be sure to contact your agent.
