Report a Claim

Life doesn't exactly wait till it's convenient for you to throw a wrench in your plans. At 1st Auto, we are ready and willing to help you after a loss has occurred. We work with you throughout the entire claims process - from initial communication through final resolution - to provide fast, caring service and to resolve your claim.


Report a Claim

If you have an accident or loss, you may report a claim in one of the following ways:

1st Auto’s Claims Department is staffed with trained professionals that provide you with prompt, fair, and courteous service. To monitor our service level, a postage-paid Customer Service Response Card is sent to policyholders that have a claim. Please return it when you receive it, we value your feedback!



When an accident happens and your vehicle is damaged, you experience first-hand just how much you rely on it. Getting you back on the road after an accident is our top priority.

1st Auto offers a Direct Repair Program vehicle repair option. We have carefully selected auto repair shops based on their quality of work, timeliness of service, and our prior experience with them.

You are free to choose your own shop. Only you, the owner, has the authority to authorize repairs.

Three Easy Steps

  1. Report your claim to your agent.
  2. Choose a convenient shop from our Direct Repair Program shop list. Your claim will be sent electronically to your shop. The shop will submit an estimate for approval.
  3. Drop your vehicle off for repairs. When it’s ready for pickup, pay your deductible and that’s it! Your repairs are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle.

If you do not find the shop of your choice on our list, report your claim and we will work with you to acquire an estimate, or set up a vehicle inspection and an agreed repair price.

Please call your agent to report your claim. Be sure to provide your agent with your current phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and the best time to reach you.
A claims representative will promptly contact you and will work with you to conclusion.
We recommend you report your claim as soon as possible so 1st Auto can respond appropriately.
If you do not have a specific shop in mind, you may want to consider one of the shops in your area in our Direct Repair Network. If you chose one of these shops, please be sure to let your agent or Claims Representative know.
If you choose not to use one of our network of Direct Repair shops and your vehicle is safely driveable, two estimates are helpful for comparison; one shop may observe damage the other may have missed.
We recommend you report it to the police department and contact your agent.
