1st Auto History

1st Auto & Casualty Insurance Company was incorporated on September 12, 1991 as a newly formed subsidiary of the Wisconsin Reinsurance Corporation (WRC). WRC is a reinsurance company insuring mutuals in the midwest. 1st Auto's role is to provide direct line products to agents affiliated with companies reinsured by WRC.

1st Auto began by writing personal automobile and umbrella insurance. Over time, the additional lines of farm truck, commercial auto, and personal liability were added to our portfolio of products.

1st Auto markets exclusively through local insurance agents. To maintain a positive working relationship with our agents, annual meetings are held in each state. 1st Auto provides continuing education as well as keeping the agents informed as to current operations and products of the company.

1st Auto has a unique relationship with the companies reinsured with Wisconsin Reinsurance Corporation, providing products and services that are necessary for their successful operation. In recognition of the better loss experience of policyholders of these companies, 1st Auto provides a special premium discounts when they are insured by both the mutual company and 1st Auto.

1st Auto is continuing to improve its services to both its policyholders and agents through modern technology and a professional experienced staff.
